Availability & booking
Is the accommodation available for my desired travel dates?

How far in advance should I book?
We recommend booking as early as possible, especially during peak seasons, to secure your preferred dates.
Is there a minimum stay requirement?
Yes, we typically have a minimum stay of 2 nights. Longer stays are welcome. Check out our specials deals for longer stays.
What payment methods are accepted?
We accept payments via credit card and bank transfer.
How do I receive my booking confirmation and deposit details?
Once your booking is confirmed, you will receive an email with all the details and instructions on how to make a deposit. A deposit is required to secure your reservation.

Yes, our prices include most fees. A final cleaning fee and security deposit may apply. Full details will be provided before booking.
Is there a security deposit, and how much is it?
A security deposit is required and is typically refunded after check-out, subject to the booking conditions.
How is the cleaning fee calculated?
A standard cleaning fee applies to all bookings, and it will be included in your total cost when making the reservation.

How many bedrooms and bathrooms does the property have?
Ocean's Horizon features 3 luxurious bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, with ample space for up to 6 guests.
Does the house have Wi-Fi?
Yes, Ocean's Horizon is equipped with high-speed fibre optic internet connection.
What additional amenities are available at the accommodation (TV or kitchen)?
The villa is fully equipped with a smart TV with Netflix access, smart lighting and home system, collection of games, washing machine, dryer, a fully equipped kitchen, and more.
Are there any special amenities like a pool or whirlpool?
Yes, Ocean's Horizon has a private pool with stunning ocean views and a whirlpool bath for your relaxation.
Does the house have a braai/grill and beach items?
Yes, the house is equipped with an electric braai for outdoor cooking, and we also provide beach essentials for your convenience.
What kitchen facilities are available (e.g., dishware, appliances, coffee maker)?
The kitchen is fully equipped with modern appliances, including a stove, oven, microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher, and a coffee maker.
Is parking available?
Yes, a double garage with direct access to the house is available on-site, free of charge for all guests.
Electricity, water, heating supply & generel safety
Is the electricity supply reliable?
While power outages can occasionally occur in South Africa, the house is equipped with a solar power system that guarantees a constant supply of electricity.
Is the tap water drinkable?
Tap water can be consumed without concern, as Ocean's Horizon is equipped with a modern water filter system.
Does the house have a heating system for colder days?
Yes, the house is fully equipped for colder days with a fireplace, floor heating, electric blankets, a gas heater, and towel heaters in the bathrooms.
Does the house have a security system?
Yes, Ocean’s Horizon is equipped with an easy-to-operate security system and separate door locks for added safety. Additionally, the coastal town of Scarborough is exceptionally safe and far from large housing developments, allowing you to move around freely.
Are there baboons in the area?
Baboons can occasionally be seen in and around Scarborough. While they’re not dangerous, they are curious and extremely clever. For your safety, it’s important to close all windows when leaving the house to avoid any surprises!

How far is the property from the nearest beach/major attractions?
Ocean's Horizon is located just a short walk from the stunning Scarborough Beach, and it’s within easy reach of major Cape Town attractions like Cape Point and the penguins at Boulders Beach.
Are there restaurants, supermarkets, or shopping nearby?
Yes, there are several local restaurants, cafes, and two mini-markets just a short walk from the property.
How accessible is the property, particularly by public transport or car?
The property is easily accessible by car, so we recommend renting one for maximum convenience. Public transport is nearly nonexistent, but Uber is a convenient alternative for getting around.
What activities or attractions are nearby?
Guests can enjoy hiking, wildlife viewing, wine tasting, and sightseeing at the nearby Cape Point Nature Reserve, as well as water sports and beach activities.
How safe is the area?
Scarborough is a safe and tranquil area, ideal for relaxation. We recommend all guests follow general safety practices.
Arrival, check-in/-out & access
How do I get to the property?
The property is easily accessible with a 60-minute drive from Cape Town Airport, so we recommend renting a car for maximum convenience. Ocean’s Horizon offers a double garage for guest use, ensuring a convenient and secure arrival. Public transport is nearly nonexistent, but Uber provides a convenient alternative for getting around. We’d be happy to connect you with a trusted, reliable Uber driver.

When can I check-in and when do I need to check out?
Check-in is from 3:00 PM, and check-out is by 10:00 AM. If you need flexibility with these times, please contact us in advance.
Is there a self-check-in process?
Your personal host on-site, Dalene, will greet you and personally introduce you to all the amenities of the house.
Can I request a late check-out?
Late check-out may be possible depending on availability. Please request this in advance.
Cancellation & changes
What are the cancellation policies?
The cancellation fee is determined by the timing of the cancellation. Please refer to the terms provided during booking or contact us for detailed information.
What happens if I need to cancel or change my booking?
Please refer to our cancellation policy. In some cases, changes may be allowed with sufficient notice, subject to availability.

Guest & safety information
How many people can stay at the property?
Ocean's Horizon accommodates up to 6 guests in its 3 bedrooms.
Are there any age restrictions for children?
We welcome families. However, due to safety reasons, all guests must be at least 12 years old. The infinity pool is open on one side, and some of the stairs in the house do not have railings for aesthetic reasons. We appreciate your understanding.
Is a baby cot and high chair available?
Yes, we provide a baby cot with bedding and a high chair for your convenience.
Is the property wheelchair accessible?
Unfortunately, the property is not fully wheelchair accessible.
Are pets allowed?
We have a no-pet policy at Ocean's Horizon to ensure the comfort and cleanliness for all our guests.
Is the house suitable for guests with dust allergies?
Great care has been taken to ensure the house is allergy-friendly. Except for a few rugs to create a cozy atmosphere, the property features only stone floors. The master bed is equipped with hypoallergenic covers for added comfort.
What safety measures are in place (e.g., smoke detectors and fire extinguishers)?
The property is equipped with smoke detectors, a fire extinguisher, and a first aid kit.
Is there an emergency contact or support if needed during my stay?
Yes, we provide an emergency contact number for any urgent needs during your stay. As our guest, we offer you a free emergency medical response while on the property; hospital transfers will be charged separately. Additionally, your personal host on-site is available to assist with any requests you may have.
Meals & services
Are breakfast or other meals included, or can they be arranged?
Meals are not included. You can explore local cafes or restaurants for breakfast and dining options, all within a short walk. The village is very safe, so you can enjoy a leisurely stroll back in the evening without any worries. Alternatively, you're welcome to use the fully equipped kitchen, which comes stocked with spices and other basic cooking essentials - perfect for preparing your own meals at home.
Is there vegan food available in the area?
Scarborough is known for its environmentally conscious community. The local restaurants and a nearby mini-market offer a great selection of vegan dishes and food options.
Is there a cleaning service available?
Upon request, we can offer regular housekeeping services for an additional charge.
Activities, leisure & best time to visit
What activities can I enjoy on-site or nearby (e.g., hiking or water sports)?
Guests can enjoy swimming, hiking, and exploring nearby nature reserves. Water sports such as kayaking and surfing are popular activities in the area.
Are there any wellness services available in the area (e.g., yoga, spa, excursions)?
Private yoga lessons are offered in the area, and in-house massage or facial treatments are also available. We are happy to provide the relevant contacts upon request.
What is the best time to visit Scarborough?
Scarborough has its charm year-round. However, the quieter period from May to September is especially lovely, as it coincides with whale season. During this time, you might even spot whales from the house's veranda! Additionally, we offer special rates for stays during this period.
